At Relativity’s big annual event, Relativity Fest, Relativity gave awards to various people whose contribution is making a difference to the take-up and use of technology in law. The award for Attorney Tech Evangelist of the Year went to Tessa Jacob, attorney and Discovery Solutions Leader at Husch Blackwell. I interviewed her after the award ceremony.
Tessa Jacob said that the award was for the whole of the litigation technology team at Husch Blackwell. The increasing importance of technology in the practice of law is, she said, becoming increasingly obvious. Young lawyers in particular are getting the message that an understanding of the benefits of technology will help advance their careers.
More of Tessa Jacob’s students every year are showing interest, and her department is getting more calls from lawyers in the firm as they increasingly recognise the role of technology in their cases.
Having seen the other awards, and heard the stories of those who received them, Tessa Jacob was going back to her firm with excitement at the range of things that can be done with Relativity’s technology, including things which go beyond eDiscovery (a major theme at Relativity Fest in 2018).
