FRONTEO, which specialises in global eDiscovery and big data analysis services using AI, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Idea Capital Group in order to expand FRONTEO’s eDiscovery services in China. There is a press release about this here.
FRONTEO has a lot going for it, both as to the market in China and as to its own experience. One of the measures of growth is the number of patent applications filed each year; more than 1 million were filed last year and this alone is seen as a source of prospective litigation, quite apart from other commercial and industrial developments in China.
For its own part, FRONTEO has its roots in Asian languages, including Chinese, and it has not stepped back from technological developments in this area while pursuing its aggressive expansion strategy in the US and in Europe – as I wrote here, it recently acquired Essential Discovery, Inc. in the US and has opened a new service centre in London to meet the growing demand for discovery services in Europe and the Middle East.
FRONTEO is the subject of a recent podcast by Ari Kaplan. He interviewed David Ahrens, Chief Marketing Officer at FRONTEO USA and they talked about the company’s recent expansion, why M&A is so active in legal technology, and what can be expected in the industry in 2017.
