I must have missed earlier announcements about this webinar, but it looks interesting and it is today, so I hasten to direct your attention.
FTI Consulting has joined forces with Bloomberg to produce a webinar called The changing international data privacy landscape – litigation and investigations in 2017 and beyond. Its theme is that changes and prospective changes like Brexit, the US presidential election, the Privacy Shield and the GDPR will all have effect on the way US corporations manage their data beyond US borders, specifically in the EU, the UK and the Asia-Pacific region.
Not all these things have happened yet, but the time to start dealing with them is now. The webinar will consider, among other things:
- The effect of regulatory and political changes including new US leadership, Privacy Shield, Brexit and the GDPR on cross-border practices
- Effects of the Schrems Facebook and Microsoft Ireland cases on corporations handling data in the EU
- Methods for navigating state secret laws, unpublished rules and the latest regulations in Singapore, Macau, China and Hong Kong
- Practical measures for minimizing risk and maximizing efficiency during cross-border matters
The speakers include Jason Ray, Managing Director at FTI Technology. There is more information, including access to a registration form, here.
