Everyone has their own reasons for going to the Nuix User Exchange – there is something for everyone on the Agenda, whether they are engaged in eDiscovery, law enforcement, forensics or security and whether as corporate client, lawyer, hands-on user, developer, or project manager.
My own primary purpose is to moderate the keynote on Tuesday. The session is called Behind the scenes – the Panama Papers, and the speaker is Gerard Ryall, director of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists. It was the ICIJ who, using Nuix, broke the Panama papers story after extensive research. I wrote about this in an article called Nuix provides the power behind the humans investigating the Panama Papers leaks and I am very much looking forward to the opportunity of asking Gerard Ryall about it.
I will also be taking part in a panel about the movement of data across borders. Safe Harbour is replaced by the Privacy Shield; the General Data Protection Regulation is looming; the Microsoft Dublin case raises questions of policy as well as law; all in all, the movement of data across borders is a subject which companies and their lawyers need to know about.
There is plenty else in the agenda ranging from the deeply technical to the strategic planning which companies are doing – or should be doing.
The Nuix User Exchange takes place at Huntington Beach, California, between 18 and 21 September. There is a registration page here.
