LegalTech 2010: Andrew Haslam reports for the Orange Rag and the 451 Group delivers market analysis

My unspoken deal with Andrew Haslam of Allvision after LegalTech each year is that I will write a heavyweight report on the business trends for the ensuing year, and will also write an anecdotal local colour story designed to convey what this show is like to those who have not been there. That leaves Andrew the hard factual stuff about products which he and his army of contributors saw at the show, together with a critique (as opposed to my mere description) of the show itself.

See Andrew Haslam gives his verdict on LegalTech NYC on Charles Christian’s Orange Rag.

I suspect that, unlike me, Andrew takes notes. Where I work on the basis that I will remember it if it was important, Andrew has a more responsible approach. If we were the Times, he would be the news and business sections where I do the comment and lifestyle sections. He reports fact, I deal in impressions, at least in this context.

If you want heavier market analysis, the place to go is the 451 Group’s Too Much Information blog. Nick Patience and Katey Wood say that they spoke to about 30 software and service providers at LegalTech – we collided only once when their Nuix demo followed mine. Some of the output is for 451 Group’s clients only, but the LegalTech New York 2010 Wrap-Up covers areas which both Andrew Haslam and I left out.

Perhaps we shall see more of you lawyers in New York next February.
