The session lineup has been finalised for ILTA Insight, the one-day London version of the conference organised by the International Legal Technology Association. There is a summary of the event here and its website is here. Note that there is no registration cost for delegates from law firms and law departments.

There are four tracks – strategic, technical, litigation support and knowledge management, with 16 sessions between them. I am involved in the litigation track with a session on litigation costs budgeting in the company of Richard Harrison of Laytons, Lee Gluyas of Nabarro and Jason Yalen of Accenture.

I am also taking part in the session called Back to the Future, a follow-up to a panel we did last year about the way lawyers will work in the near future. Last year, the participants on this panel were me, Vince Neicho of Allen & Overy and the late Browning Marean of DLA Piper US. I observed part-way through the panel that our average age was north of 60 and that it would be good to hear from younger lawyers on this subject.

That is what we are doing this year: Vince Neicho, former Senior Master Steven Whitaker and I are taking part, but the main participants are Caroline Jan of Kingsley Napley, Andreea Mohan of Taylor Wessing and Sana Naman of Allen & Overy

We very much need the younger ones to be assertive when they join law firms whose use of technology, in many cases, is behind the everyday experience of their new recruits.
