Guidance Software has partnered with Box to ease eDiscovery collections from Box cloud users.

The business of Box is the provision of cloud hosting and services. It is much more than a cloud repository, offering features, Apps and access for its clients’ developers, together with a set of admin features.

Box has increased its sales in the legal industry by more than 150% in the last year, as customers like Perkins Coie, Wilson Sonsini and Fowler White Boggs use Box to collaborate internally and externally, to manage and share information and to access legal documents on mobile devices. Most recent of these is Guidance Software, a move on Box’s part which recognises that eDiscovery requirements are a major consideration for law firms and their clients. The integration between EnCase eDiscovery and Box allows users to collect and preserve information managed in Box with the same ease as data which is stored locally. The integration allows EnCase to connect to Box APIs and eliminate multiple manual steps such as copying files. This obviously improves the speed, security and defensibility of the discovery exercise.
